Music : Laura Mvula- Sing to the moon

 

 

 

Laura Mvula is raised in the  Birmingham suburbs of Selly Park and Kings Heath.
She has 2 younger siblings.

In 2005 she sang with Black Voices, an a cappella group which was set up by her aunt. Laura was influenced by the girl band Eternal.
In 2008, she formed a jazz/neo-soul group called Judyshouse, in which she sang the lead vocals and she wrote material for the band.
She graduated from the Birmingham Conservatoire with a degree in composition. She started writing songs on her laptop while working as a supply teacher in a secondary school.
At the time she sent out two demos to several people in the music industry she was working as a receptionist.
She is married to singer Themba Mvula.

Debut album : Sing to the moon

A beautiful album, her sound is a bit familiar (Adele-ish) but still she has her own sound. Maybe because of her accent.

Unfortunately we have not a real Victoria Secret stores as they have in United States but fortunately we have 2 at Schiphol airport. One behind the customs and one at the general shop area, which is very convenient if you don't need to take the plain. Although they have limited kind of products in the store I am very glad we actually have one. (sort of).
I choose this body mist; Mango temptation this time.

I definitely go back to the store as soon as possible because I really like what I saw! Hopefully there will be a store someday in the Netherlands which also sell their clothing as well.

Robin Charles Thicke (Los Angeles, 10/3/1977) Canadian-American
R&B- en soulzanger, -songwriter, musician, composer and actor.
He is the son of  Gloria Loring and Alan Thicke (actor in Growing Pains).

Thicke wrote songs for Jordan Knight, Usher, Christina Aguilera, Mya, Brandy, Michael Jackson and Marc Anthony.  In 2004 he won his first Grammy Award for his cooperation to Ushers album Confessions.

  

In 2005 he married actrice Paula Patton. Her naked body was shown discretely on the cover of his first album, A Beautiful world.

Movie: Now you see me

4 young magicians, J. Daniel Atlas (Jesse Eisenberg) Henley Reeves (Isla Fisher) Jack Wilder (Dave Franco), and Merritt McKinney (Woody Harrelson) separately recieve a Tarot card during their performances. The card seems to be an invitation for a certain time and date.

From that moment on they are the Four Horsemen. Together they perform their magic show in which they rub a bank in Europe and they split the profits among the audience.

Dylan Rhodes (Mark Ruffalo), a FBI agent is determined to let them pay for their crimes.He has to work together with Interpol agent Alma Dray (Mélanie Laurent).

They agree on thing and that is that there must be an accomplice somewhere.

Note books

I love notebooks, no not the technical devices but the old fasioned note books of paper.

I use them for my aspirations, inspirations and to write down ideas & dreams. I have a several of them, always like to start in a new one for new ideas.

Because every new note book seems to mean a new chapter in life.

A new star with the name Valerie June (1982) will delight our ears.
This lady with a raw voice sings country, blues.

Valerie is from Memphis, Tennesse which explains her Southern sound.
For this album she worked with Dan Auberbach (The Black keys).


This album is really worth the listen, take your time and listen to the music and lyrics.
Pay full attention to listen, she deserves it.

My boyfriend bought the Hydra Intensive face cream.
I must say the cream really smells nice and feels good.
I tried the cream on my hand and the skin absorbs it quite fast.

Enjoying the good weather in Zandvoort

This weekend, the weather will be great, at least we hope it wil last. Today we did had some good sunshine !
My boyfriend and I went to Zandvoort and had dinner at restaurant Bruxelles, situated at the beach.
After dinner we had a small walk at the beach it self back to the car.

Life is good with the sun beams lighting up our lives!
